Jesus said, “I will build My Church…” There is a single organization that teaches the entire truth of the Bible, and is called to live by “every word of God.” Do you know how to find it? Christ said it would:

  • Teach “all things” He commanded
  • Have called out members set apart by truth
  • Be a “little flock”

Editor’s Note: Teens in God’s Church are often asked questions about their beliefs, actions, etc. In this section, we will periodically produce answers to give you ideas to help you respond. While such questions are often about smaller issues or details, it is always good to apply the principle of I Peter 3:15: “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

God’s dietary laws in Leviticus 11 explain that pork is not to be eaten.

Pork is not healthy food. The reason is that pigs are scavengers. They carry viruses, diseases and parasites.

They also carry trichina worms that can be passed to humans by pork, which can lead to a disease called Trichinosis. Trichinosis causes symptoms that are similar to a severe flu, which last anywhere from 10 days to several months. This disease is sometimes fatal.

Pork is also high in cholesterol, which contributes to cardiovascular disease. Healthy protein sources include dairy, legumes, chicken and lean beef.

Science has proven that the Bible’s dietary laws are for our protection! (Read our article “Are All Animals Good Food?” for more information.)
