“Why do you meet for Church services in your home?”

It is important to understand that the word “Church” is derived from the Greek word “ekklesia,” which means “called out ones.” The Church is comprised of those whom God has “called out” of this world and into obedience to His Word.

Many think of a church as a physical building, often with a steeple, but God says that His Church is actually people. It is not necessary to meet in a typical “church-like” building for services since the Church is wherever God’s people are, instead of a particular structure.

Also consider that wherever “two or three are gathered together in [Jesus’] name, there [He is] in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20). Jesus Christ is present wherever His people meet on the Sabbath, even if it is in a Church member’s home.
